About SessionVista™
SessionVista™ is a product line that helps organizations understand the variety of traffic flowing across their networks and to enforce network policy when unwanted traffic is observed. SessionVista™ consists of network probes called Exporters and processing elements called Collectors. SessionVista™ uses Deep Packet Inspection at line rates to understand the traffic flowing without storing packets for offline analysis. It is capable of decoding over 700 protocols including HTTP, SMTP, Bittorrent, Twitter, Facebook, SIP and many more. SessionVista™ differs from existing solutions in three important ways:

- It is architected as an application development platform, which means that third parties can add their own network aware DPI based applications using the SessionVista™ framework. Your applications can access the attributes of 700 distinct protocols and have them reported on a session basis for easy correlation. There are also numerous default applications that Mantaro has developed for SessionVista™ to make it usable right out of the box.
- It performs an information reduction exercise where 100 times less metadata is produced than the raw line rate. This provides actionable information without the need for vast amounts of storage for packets. Other solutions store packets which means that as traffic rates are increased to 20 Gbps, the storage requirement is immense and costly. This is not the case with SessionVista™ which produces a manageable amount of metadata even at 20 Gbps.
- SessionVista™ can produce metadata that can either be stored in a variety of databases or produce log information that can be coupled with leading log management systems such as Splunk® or LogLogic®. SessionVista™ does not dictate that you use a particular type of database or any database for that matter.
